Eligibility Criteria For NIA Recruitment 2024

Technical Forensic Psychologist: Eligibility for the post requires candidates to be officers from Central/State Governments, Universities, Research Institutions, Union Territories, PSUs, or autonomous/statutory bodies, who: (i) hold a similar post on a regular basis, or (ii) have two years of service in Pay Band-2 (₹9300-34800) with Grade Pay ₹4800, or (iii) have three years of service in Pay Band-2 with Grade Pay ₹4600. They must have a Master’s degree in Criminology or Clinical Psychology from a recognized university and three years of experience in applied Psychology, Criminology, or Crime Investigation.

Desirable qualifications include a Doctorate in Psychology, three years of experience in clinical psychology, or advanced qualifications like an M. Phil/PG Diploma in Clinical/Forensic Psychology. Deputation is limited to three years, and applicants must be under 56 years of age as of the application deadline.

Finger Print Expert: Candidates must be officers working under the Central or State Government, Universities, recognized Research Institutions, Union Territories, PSUs, or autonomous organizations. They should either hold an equivalent post on a regular basis, have two years of experience in a post with a Pay Band-2 scale of ₹9300-34800 and Grade Pay ₹4800, or three years of experience in a post with a Pay Band-2 scale of ₹9300-34800 and Grade Pay ₹4600. Additionally, candidates should possess an M.Sc. in any 
Science subject, an M.Sc. in Forensic Science, or a B.Sc. with Chemistry as one of the subjects from a recognized university.

Explosive Expert: Officers from Central/State Governments, Universities, recognized Research Institutions, Union Territories, PSUs, Semi-Government, Statutory, or Autonomous Organizations are eligible if they: (i) hold analogous posts on a regular basis; (ii) have two years of regular service in the Pay Band-2 (₹9300-34800) with a Grade Pay of ₹4800; or (iii) have three years of regular service in the same Pay Band with a Grade Pay of ₹4600.

Additionally, candidates must have a Master’s degree in Chemistry or Forensic Science (with Chemistry at the B.Sc. level) from a recognized university and five years of experience in examining explosives and firearms. A Doctorate in Chemistry is desirable.

The deputation period is limited to three years, and the maximum age for appointment by deputation is 56 years as of the application closing date.

Cyber Forensic Examiner: Officers from Central/State Governments, Union Territories, Public Sector Undertakings, recognized research institutions, universities, semi-government, statutory, or autonomous organizations are eligible if they meet one of the following conditions: (i) currently holding an equivalent post on a regular basis; (ii) having two years of regular service in Pay Band-2 (Rs. 9300-34800) with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4800; or (iii) having three years of regular service in Pay Band-2 (Rs. 9300-34800) with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4600. Candidates must also hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant fields such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent qualifications.

Crime Scene Assistant: Officers from Central or State Governments, Union Territories, Public Sector Undertakings, recognized research institutions, universities, or statutory/autonomous organizations are eligible. Applicants must hold an analogous post on a regular basis in their parent department or have five years of regular service in Pay Band-2 (₹9300-34800) plus a Grade Pay of ₹4200 or equivalent. Additionally, candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Analytical Chemistry, Physics, or Forensic Science from a recognized university, along with three years of experience in crime scene processing within relevant government or autonomous organizations. The total deputation period, including previous deputations, should align with standard norms.

Photographer: Candidates must be officers from the Central/State Government, Universities, recognized Research Institutions, Union Territories, Public Sector Undertakings, or similar organizations. They should either hold an equivalent post regularly, have six years of regular service in a role with Pay Band-1 and Grade Pay of ₹2800, or have ten years of regular service in a role with Pay Band-1 and Grade Pay of ₹2400. Additionally, applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, a diploma in photography, and at least three years of experience in scientific photography, including its techniques and various branches.
